Quick Start

This quick start guide shows you how to open the review screen for a project, respond to discussion topics, and create new ones.

When you sign in to ProtoShare, you may see the account overview screen, which looks like this:

Prototypes in ProtoShare are organized into projects. Each project is represented by a thumbnail of its home page. A blue badge, like this: Unread Badge, indicates that you have unread discussion topics in that project. Click a thumbnail to open that project. The project review screen opens in a new browser tab, and looks like this:

The project review screen is divided into a list of topics on the left, and a large viewing area on the right. The project homepage automatically loads in the viewing area.

To read and comment on a topic, first select the topic in the list. The viewing area updates to show the design that the topic refers to, and the topic’s pushpin is shown:

The full topic body, existing comments, and a box to add a new comment are shown in the topic details area below the topic listing, like this:

You can also provide feedback by starting your own discussion topics. Other project members can then respond to your feedback by commenting on your discussion topics.

Click the Add Topics Button in the toolbar above the viewing area to begin. A yellow border appears around the viewing area, indicating that clicking will create a new topic, like this:

"Add Topics" Mode

When you click on your design, a new pushpin appears on the design, and the New Topic dialog appears, which looks like this:

The project editors will automatically be notified of your new discussion topic.

That’s all it takes to provide valuable feedback to keep your project moving forward.
