Inviting People to Projects

To share a project with others, they must be invited. If you have Developer privileges or better, you can invite other users to a project. The users can already exist in ProtoShare or you can create new user profiles.

Your ProtoShare plan includes a specific number of Editors per account and Reviewers per project. You can verify your account entitlements by clicking the People tab in the application. You can learn about upgrade options by visiting the ProtoShare pricing page.

To invite people to a project, follow these steps:

1.  Click the Projects tab.
The Projects screen lists all projects available to you.

2.  Select the project.
Click the project in the grid. To select multiple projects, use Ctrl + click (PC) or cmd + click (Mac).

3.  Invite project members.
Click the Invite button in the Members pane. The Invitation dialog opens where you specify the users to invite:

  • Existing users – Enter the e-mail addresses in the To field, separated by commas. Existing users will have the same role they have on other projects.
  • New users – Enter the e-mail addresses in the To field separated by commas, and select their role. The users you’re permitted to create are limited to your role or lower. For example, a Developer can create only new Developers or Reviewers. To learn more about user roles, refer to Choosing a User Role.

4. Personalize the invitation (optional).

5.  Send the invitation.
Click the Invite button in the Members pane. The Invitation dialog opens where you specify the users to invite. Click the Send Invitation button. Users are sent an in vitation email, which contains a link to the ProtoShare account.
